Established on the 2nd of Baisakh, 2066 B.S, under the visionary leadership of our esteemed founder, Mrs. Shantimaya Samekham Limbu, our school has become a beacon of quality education in the region.

Phaktanglung Education Foundation derives its name from Mount Khumbhakarna, known in the local Limbu language as Phaktanglung. This majestic name symbolizes our commitment to reaching the highest peaks of academic excellence and holistic development. With a student body of 500 eager learners, we are dedicated to providing an environment where education is more than just a classroom experience.

Our guiding motto, “Education is a child-centered process,” attributed to the renowned educationist John Dewey, reflects our belief in the importance of progressive education. At Phaktanglung Education Foundation, we strive to create a learning atmosphere that is both dynamic and nurturing. We emphasize hands-on learning and project-based approaches that actively engage students and foster critical thinking skills.

Our comprehensive educational programs are designed to equip students with the essential 21st-century skills needed for their future success. We offer a variety of extracurricular and co-curricular activities (ECA and CCA) to ensure that every student receives a well-rounded education. From SQC (Student Quality Circles) to Scout activities, Scribble Club, Child Club, and Eco Club, we provide diverse opportunities for our students to explore their interests and develop their talents.

In collaboration with QUEST Nepal and Kathmandu University (KU), we continuously enhance our educational offerings and professional development for our faculty.
